There are some rules and regulations concerning the cable cast of content for our channels. You'll learn about these during New Producer Orientation and throughout the course of your media education training.

Freedom of speech is vital to a democratic society and is a right guaranteed in the Constitution. KLTV provides ordinary citizens with the ability to exercise that right in the age of television. Television, clearly the most powerful means of communication in our culture, is put in the hands of each and every citizen through Kelso Longview Television. As a KLTV community producer you are legally liable for the content of your productions
There are four kinds of programs that CANNOT be made or shown using KLTV facilities. They are:

• Programs that are commercial in nature.
• Programs that are obscene or pornographic.
• Programs which promote the violent overthrow of the government.
• Programs that constitute copyright infringement, invasion of privacy or are defamatory in nature.
